Yanire Sylva Delgado is an Ecuadorian artist based in London whose work is a profound exploration of self-expression, transformation, and emotional depth. Drawing from her roots in South America and inspired by the cultural richness of her surroundings, Yanire creates captivating sculptural pieces using clay, metal, and timber. Her art speaks to the complexities of human emotion—balancing strength and vulnerability, tension and serenity, permanence and change.
Guided by a background in positive psychology and mindfulness, Yanire’s practice extends beyond the visual. Her work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and engage with the often-unspoken aspects of our inner lives. Through tactile, elemental materials, she crafts forms that evoke both the rawness of life’s challenges and the resilience of the human spirit. Each sculpture is a meditative inquiry—a moment of stillness and connection in a fast-moving world.
Her journey as an artist has taken her across continents. She studied Printmaking in Madrid, taught as a university lecturer in Ecuador, and earned a Master's in Arts, Book, and Design from Essex University. More recently, ceramics has become her medium of choice, and she now works from her studio at Mitre Studios in Walthamstow, where she continues experimenting with form, texture, and narrative.
Yanire is also deeply engaged in her local community. Since moving to Walthamstow, she has collaborated with organisations such as Green Shoes for Art, The Mill, Blackhorse Workshop, Barbican’s Garden Party, E17 Designers, and the E17 Art Trail. These projects reflect her commitment to accessible, community-rooted creativity and her belief in the power of art to build bridges and spark meaningful dialogue.
With a rich multicultural perspective and a deeply personal approach, Yanire Sylva Delgado’s work offers viewers something to look at—something to feel, ponder, and carry with them.
