Aretha is an artist drawn to printmaking largely through etching techniques and a practice rooted in mark-making. Her work explores the tension between hardness and softness, often focused on natural forms whether the human body, the sea or other organic settings, and traces the ways these shapes communicate presence, vulnerability and strength.

Aretha’s prints are often small. This encourages the viewer to come closer and develop a relationship with the work and the space around it. At Yes! Art Aretha will be showing patterned prints from heavily etched plates which express the diverse conversation between form, texture and emotion.
