Sylvietta is an artist whose mixed media work spans from dynamic cityscapes to expressive portraiture. Her work embraces the vibrancy of collage, cut-out weaving together layered stories through recycled paper and found materials from her surroundings.


Her cut-out drawing is part of an ongoing series exploring the tension between freedom and constraint. Using black ink lines she confines life-drawn figures within the space of an A2 sheet. While the model stays still Sylvietta will shift position as she draws layering outlines of the same pose to suggest movement within a fixed frame.

Sylvietta is strongly influence from her early training in comics developed during her foundation year and studies at the Comics Academy in Italy. Her academic background at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan also informs the structure and depth of her work.
