Helen Chambers is an abstract painter who graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1995. Before becoming an artist she worked as a printed textile designer for over 25 years. Helen paints mostly using acrylic, exploring the space between realism and abstraction. She describes her practice as “working intuitively from memory and feelings from landscapes, seascapes and gardens visited, and exploring the space between abstraction and representation”.
Helen is currently represented by Artsug Gallery in Walthamstow and Artko, who license prints of her paintings to department stores and shops throughout the country.
Helen has lived near Walthamstow marshes for 20 years and will be exhibiting her expressive paintings for the E17 Art Trail, capturing her memories from walks in the area. You can view these at her one-person show ‘Across the Wetlands’ at FOUNDRY Walthamstow.
